Welcome to Wellness Connections
Formed in 2002, Wellness Connections is a not-for-profit (501(c)3 tax-exempt) organization that is "peer-run by individuals who have lived mental health or substance use issues. We are dedicated to mental health and addiction recovery with centers in Douglas, Nogales, Safford and Sierra Vista as well as mobile service for Benson.
Our goal is for all Wellness Connection members to significantly improve their quality of life.
Which is why we maintain a qualified staff of Recovery Support Specialists, Peer Support Specialists and Behavior Health Technicians.
Based in Southeastern Arizona, Wellness Connections operates under a peer-run model. The vast majority of our staff, board and volunteers have experienced, or are still experiencing, their own recovery journeys, placing them in a unique position to help our members.
Through a wide array of programs, activities, training and rehabilitation services, Wellness Connections empowers its members to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
As a peer-run organization, we know taking that first step to recovery is not easy. We also know you don’t have to do it alone, which is why we walk alongside you as you travel your own path.
- To provide opportunities for each participant to be supported in improving their health and wellbeing, and achieving their highest potential. To encourage each participant to achieve their goals for wellness and independence through empowerment, support, education, life skills, connections with community resources and employment training opportunities.
- To treat everyone as a person first, not an illness, and recognize each of us has unique experiences, perspectives, special gifts and individual talents.
- To provide the opportunity for each participant to be supported in learning to self-advocate.
The services offered by Wellness Connections in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz Counties are based upon eight dimensions of wellness:
Each of these dimensions is important to enhancing both wellbeing and recovery.
Our services are provided via a mutually supportive environment and include life skills training, health promotion, socialization opportunities, pre-job training and other rehabilitation programs.
Limited transportation can also be provided to and from our locations, for medically necessary appointments, support sessions and workforce training.
Funding is provided through contracts with Cenpatico Integrated Care, Banner Health, Optum and the DES Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Additionally, we pursue grants and other fundraising opportunities.
