Our Programs & Services

Participants in our programs have the option of receiving their services 1:1 or in groups, at our wellness centers, in their homes, or other locations within the communities served.

Center & Community-Based:

Recovery-focused services are delivered by qualified teams of certified Peer Support Specialists and Behavioral Health Technicians, and include the following:

  • Peer Support, Self-Help services, Self-Advocacy
  • Life Skills Training (budgeting, time management, communication, cooking, parenting, anger management, etc.)
  • Wellness coaching, health & nutrition, access to fitness facilities
  • Addiction recovery education and support
  • Employment Services
  • Reentry Services for men and women returning to community from incarceration
  • Supported Housing (SMI only)
  • Daily Meal Program (breakfast, lunch); food boxes, commodities (we are a Southern AZ Food Bank partner)
  • Transportation to/from medical, mental health, court, probation/parole and job-seeking appointments
  • Computer & technology training; computer lab, internet access
  • Culinary Arts Training, Food Handler’s certification, Serve-Safe Manager training
  • Social and recreational outings to reduce isolation
  • Mobile outreach to underserved communities
  • Information & referral services

Counseling Services:

In October 2017, Wellness Connections licensed its outpatient facilities and added counseling services to program offerings. At this time, counseling is available by appointment on a limited basis, as we develop our counseling program to best meet the needs of each community we serve. Please call 866-455-0080 for more information.

In September 2017, Wellness Connections began delivering Opioid Outreach services in Cochise and Graham Counties. Our dedicated Opioid Outreach specialists help identify and connect people with opioid use disorders to the treatment and other help they need for recovery. This effort is supported through the States Targeted Response (STR) Grant which was awarded to Arizona in 2017, and administered through Arizona Complete Health in southern Arizona. Community Outreach  & Re-Entry Support Services

Our community outreach programs provide various assistance to help people address immediate needs, i.e. connecting with resources to provide housing/shelter, food, clothing, jobs, health care coverage (AHCCCS, Marketplace, other), and treatment. Click here for more information.

Our dedicated team of forensic peer specialists assist men and women returning to the community from incarceration with overcoming barriors to successful reentry. Our forensic peer specialists are certified recovery support specialists, who also have "lived experience" with justice system involvement and successful reentry.

Employment Services

Our Employment Services Program includes a dedicated team of Employment Specialists, i.e. job developers, job coaches. Several members of our team are also certified as Offender Employment Specialists (OES).

Our Employment Services Program staff work hand-in-hand with complementary departments (outreach, housing, health & wellness, Reentry) depending on the individual’s specific needs and goals.

Employment Services include:

  • Prevocational Training
  • Job Development & Placement
  • On-going Support to Maintain Employment
  • GED & pre-GED tutoring

In both 2016 and 2017, Wellness Connections was honored to be awarded an Operational Excellence Award from Arizona Complete Health, in recognition of the excellent work conducted by our Employment Services Program staff.

Social Enterprises (consumer-operated businesses):

In addition to the employment services described above, Wellness Connections is developing peer-run Social Enterprises in three communities served (Culinary/catering in Sierra Vista, Appliance Connections in Safford, Juice Bar in Douglas,). These enterprises serve as vehicles for on-the-job training, as well as paid work opportunities.  Revenue generated from these efforts will be reinvested in sustaining and growing the programs.
